Description: The Mesolithic in Europe usually refers to the cultures and industries that post-date the end of the Pleistocene and pre-date the introduction of farming. Mesolithic industries in Britain have many features in common with Late Upper Palaeolitic, but they fall within the Holocene (MIS 1). The AHOB project's scope did not include Mesolithic, except for a few key sites that were investigated along with Late Upper Palaeolithic.
